Privacy Policy
SelfStudy365 app and website (selfstudy365.in). Effective 5 November 2026.
SelfStudy365 is an independent exam-preparation service. It is not affiliated with any government or exam authority. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Data we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name and email address | To create and secure your account, and to send sign-up, login and password-reset codes |
| Your password, stored only as a secure hash | To sign you in |
| Your answers, test attempts, progress, streak, saved questions and study settings | To save your learning record and show your progress and reviews |
| Study groups you create or join | To run the group and its leaderboard |
| Problem reports you send about a question, with any note you write | To correct the content |
| IP address and technical request logs on our server | To keep the service secure, limit abuse and fix faults |
If you use Google sign-in where it is offered, Google shares your name and email address with us so that we can sign you in.
Data we do not collect
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, files, phone number or payment details. The app has no advertising. The app and website have no third-party analytics. We do not sell your data.
Advertising on the website
The website (selfstudy365.in) uses Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar identifiers to show and measure ads, and to choose ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first.
You can turn off personalised ads in Google's Ads Settings, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
What other people can see
If you join a study group, its members can see your first name and last initial, your scores and your position on the leaderboard. Leave the group if you do not want this.
On your phone
The app stores your sign-in session and preferences on your device, and these may be included in your device's own backup. Study reminders are scheduled on your phone. You can turn them off at any time.
Who processes data for us
We use service providers only to run the service: Hostinger hosts our server, and Google (Gmail) delivers our emails. Google also provides the app store, Google sign-in and website advertising (AdSense). We share data with others only if the law requires it.
Security
Data travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords and one-time codes are stored only as hashes. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
How long we keep data
We keep your account data until you delete your account. Deletion takes effect immediately on our live system. Deleted data can remain in protected server backups for up to about 14 days, until those backups expire. Server logs are kept for a limited period.
Your choices
- Get a copy: download everything your account holds, from the account page on the website or the Account screen in the app.
- Delete: delete your account and learning record at any time. See how to delete your account.
- Correct: email us if something is wrong.
Children
SelfStudy365 is intended for exam candidates and is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date.
